The Viking Lord

Hey, you. Are you yearning for adventure? Looking to explore the frigid Nordic seas in search of new lands to conquer? Do you have what it takes to be… the Viking Lord? Written with heavy inspiration from a certain Nordic-inspired, open-world adventure video game, The Viking Lord will take listeners pillaging and plundering with it’s driving rhythms and exciting melody. Are you ready? TO BATTLE!

In many instances throughout the piece, parts 1-4 sort of act as “choir 1” and 5-8 act as “choir 2,’ with 1 and 5 having unison parts, 2 and 6 unison, etc. You can experiment with spacial part arrangement as you see fit in order to best facilitate cohesion amongst the ensemble. The Viking Lord was written for the 2022 Austin Trumpet Camp middle school trumpet choir.
